I have seriously fallen in love with Brooklyn guys. If I could escape Manhattan everyday for quiet (read: no tourists) Brooklyn neighborhoods everyday I truly would. My favorite spot to explore is Brooklyn Heights since the pretty brownstones and cobblestone streets can usually cure my homesickness for Boston. You'll just be walking down and then all of the sudden you're looking out on the entire skyline of Manhattan. It's pretty magical I must say.

On an entirely separate note I finally found a pair of over-the-knee suede boots that I LOVE for only $70! Like most of the world I seriously lust over these Stuart Weitzman boots, but I don't exactly have $800 to drop on a trendy pair of boots. So instead I've been waiting and waiting to find a pair that's both high-quality and decently priced. When I found these ones in Nordstrom Rack I swear I was in and out of the store in ten minutes because I was so excited about the boots. Honestly, I've worn them every day I've had them so far... might be getting as ridiculous as the amount I wear this jacket. Luckily, for all of you these boots are available online in multiple colors as well!

Happy Friday everyone! I am free from midterms finally (at least for a couple weeks til round 2 comes around), so I'm ready to have a little bit of fun this weekend!

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to visit the Shoptiques headquarters for an event with school, and I was reminded of two things

1) The founder, Olga Videsheva, is a serious boss lady!
2) I seriously need to shop on their site more often, so many amazing deals.

Shoptiques is essentially an e-commerce site for hundreds of small local boutiques all over the world! In a city where everyone seems to be decked head to toe in the same Zara pieces, switching things up and finding unique pieces from small boutiques has been so much fun! During the event, I bought this dress (it's only $40!), but I also have my eye on a few other pieces from the site right now (including  this, this and this all under $100).

There's truly nothing like fall in New England and every year I spend in NYC  the more I miss it. Luckily, since NYC isn't too far away I've gotten to go home every year for Columbus Day weekend, around the time that leaves are changing in Massachusetts. It always ends up being a whirlwind weekend where I have less than 73 hours to do all my favorite fall activities. Highest on my list is apple picking, but a hike with my dogs and and ice cream from my favorite ice cream store are always requirements for s successful weekend.

When it comes to packing for home I really only pack four things: cozy sweaters, plaid tops, jeans, and casual sneakers. I basically lived in this sweater, these jeans (with my DIY fraying at the bottom), and white converse. Also, since buying this jacket a few years ago it's always my go-to for fall day! Truly one of my best purchases ever.

Keep scrolling down to get a glimpse of each of my outfits form the weekend!

New England Fall

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Happy Friday all! This week has felt very long, so I'm pretty grateful for a weekend, even if it will be filled with essay writing and midterm studying.

While I always try to style new pieces and new outfits for you all, it's been pretty much impossible to keep this jacket out of pictures lately. I wear it way more than is probably socially appropriate (aka everyday), and it works perfectly on top of my easy fall look of jeans, booties, and a striped tee. No exaggeration, I probably wear some version of this look at least twice a week.

Classics like these jeans, jacket and booties are ones worth splurging a little on, because when it comes down to it you'll wear your them to death meaning cheap options are going to fall apart just too fast. Luckily, you can also save while splurging with the Shopbop Sale this week. When you spend up to $500 you get 25% off and then over that you get 30% off. It's truly a great deal, especially since some of these pieces are never on sale!

Below are a few of my favorites from the Shopbop sale, including my jacket on sale for $50 off! This similar option is also a great deal for under $80! Don't forget the sale ends TONIGHT, so shop now before you're wishing you had.

Fall Classics + Shopbop Sale

I know it's crazy to say it, but fall is seriously flying by. It feels like just yesterday it was the first day of school and I was still sweating on my short walk to class. Being back in New England this weekend I've been reminded that we're just a couple weeks away from being forced to layer on sweaters and coats to beat the November chill, but believe me I'm not sad about it. I'm more than ready for chunky sweaters and warming up with a hot cider.

I have more things on my October wish list than my wallet can afford (aka nothing), but I wanted to share some of my favorites with you! My fall style always leans on the preppy side (hence this look), but recently I've been lowing pieces with a bit more of a western feel as well. I'd love to mix these two styles by pairing these detailed booties with a classic fisherman sweater (for under $100!). Other highlights include this knotted tee for under $40 and LL Bean boots on sale until Tuesday!

If you've found any must-have pieces for fall, make sure to share below!

October Favorites

Hi all! It's been awhile.. but I promise I'm still here. Since my school's gotten back in full swing it seems like there hasn't been time to do everything I want to do and the blog has been falling through the cracks. Luckily, this means I do have plenty of content to share with all of you in the coming week!

The preppy New Englander in me is all about the plaid as soon as temperatures drop each fall. However, in NYC it always seems a bit ridiculous to pull out my plaid button downs and bean boots, so I love how this top pairs with edgier pieces like a leather jacket and ripped jeans.

Unfortunately, this blouse is from Zara and I wasn't able to find this top online, but I was able to find a couple different options that give a similar effect. I can also promise I'll be styling it in a very different way while I'm back home in Massachusetts this weekend for the holiday, so expect to see it again soon!
