Happy Monday y'all! My conference was Friday and after a crazy weekend celebrating my roommate's birthday I'm ready to get back to normal. There's plenty of things in my life that need a little TLC since I've been putting all my time towards the conference. I'll you more about that later this week though. For now I want to talk about my favorite looks for spring, or really any season.

You all know I'm all about the classics, and it doesn't get more classic than jeans and a great white button down. This look has seriously become my go-to (more evidence here), but there are so many ways this look can be done. You can go more business casual with a classic blouse and dark jeans or you go my Sunday funday way with a softened blouse and ripped jeans!

I've linked to a bunch of options below so you can all shop the perfect jeans and white blouse combo for your schedule!

The Classic Combo

It seems that winter is slowly but surely fading into spring. There have been little signs throughout the city - everything from sunnier days to people switching to lighter jackets - and it's clear that everyone is truly ready for a new season. Honestly, this winter wasn't that rough when it comes to Northeast winters. Besides that one crazy snowstorm, NYC had very few storms or frigid days.

Nonetheless, I'm happy to say that I'm about ready to put away the puffy winter coat I always layer under my peacoat. I am also hoping that these pictures will be the last I show you of true winter weather. Over the weekend we hit 60 degrees and I'm crossing my fingers this isn't just a fluke.

On Presidents Day I headed over to the Whitney with a friend before the snowflakes started falling. To be honest with you all - I really hate the art at the Whitney. I'm not the biggest fan of modern art anyways, but for some reason I find the Whitney's exhibits to be even worse. However, as a NYU student I get free entrance, so I wanted to give the museum one more chance. Unfortunately, this visit didn't change my mind, but I did once again appreciate the beautiful views the museum has to offer. If you're visiting the city I'd say you're much better off checking out The Met or the MoMA.

Last Days of Winter

Monday, February 22, 2016

Wow. It's been a while, hasn't it? I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post, but sometimes life just gets a little crazy and you have to go on autopilot. I'm in the middle of summer internship recruiting and the conference I'm on the planning team for is less than ten days away - so you could say things are a bit hectic around here.

With all the madness these last few weeks, it kind of just hit me that spring is around the corner. I wore sneakers and a light rain jacket out yesterday and realized that sandal weather is coming. While we're still definitely months away from shorts and sandals weather it is probably time to put away your bean boots and parkas. The end of February and March is a weird transition between seasons, so I always find myself falling back on classics. A chic rain coat, light striped sweaters, ripped jeans, and wrap dresses will all get you through this odd weather. Then when we finally reach May you can pair your sweater with loose shorts and shed your tights!

School is back in full swing this week, which means it's been a little hectic around here. I keep thinking back to two weeks ago when I was telling people I was busy because I was going to Target with my mom and having movie marathons... that is most definitely not busy.

Part of the reason things are so busy is because I'm part of a team planning the 5th Annual Undergraduate Stern Women in Business Conference at my school. The conference is just 3 weeks away, so things are getting down to the wire and my to-do list keeps running off the page. Now a little self promotion here - if you live in the NYC area definitely check out our conference! There are going to be some really fun panels (entrepreneurship, fashion, media, etc) and I can already tell you the swag bags are going to be amazing.

As a final note, what is this weather? I'm all for only one real winter storm this year, but it seems a little too good to be true. Even so, I'm pulling out all my flats and light jackets for as long as this gorgeous weather lasts!

Too Good To Be True

Wednesday, February 3, 2016

The past week has been a bit crazy, so I don't have an outfit post for you guys today, instead I'm sharing a few of my favorite shots from this weekend. I've kind of been all over the place this weekend starting off in Brooklyn Friday morning for a meeting with my former boss at Dressometry. After my meeting it was so nice out that I took a little walk around DUMBO (easily my favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn) to get take in the skyline of Manhattan.

While I was pretty boring on Saturday, I finally left my house on Sunday to head uptown to the Met for a homework assignment (great homework, am I right?). A couple friends and I explored the Roman and American wings before heading over to Shake Shack.

Also, I've been wearing my green blazer all. the. time. It's actually become the perfect layer underneath my peacoat for these semi-cold winter days. Luckily for all of you it's still on sale in navy at Banana Republic!
