Remember this post from a few weeks ago? I debated whether or not to splurge on a Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag or save money by buying a similar bag for less. After hearing the opinions of many readers and my friends I decided to buy the Rebecca Minkoff bag.

I was on the fence about buying the bag because the $195 price tag was pretty intimidating. However, I had set aside money/gift cards I was given for christmas and decided that buying one of my dream bags was a good present for myself.

Now that I've had the bag for a week I can tell you buying it was the right choice. I've wanted this bag for years and the quality is amazing. The above pictures don't even come close to doing the bag justice. I also needed a black bag for many different occasions and the Mini MAC can be dressed up or down.

One of the best things about my new baby (Is it bad that I have like 8 babies? My phone, camera, bag, etc, etc) is the size. I can easily fit all my essentials for a day of shopping, trip into the city, or night out. I hate having to transfer the contents of my giant everyday wallet to a smaller wallet when I use a cross body bag and with this bag I don't have to do that! My wallet fits and there is still plenty of space for my phone, lipgloss, Chapstick, and bronzer. I could also fit a small notebook as well if I needed one!

If you are looking for a new cross body bag and are thinking in investing in a more expensive option I definitely recommend the Mini MAC. I know my bag and I will spend many happy years together.

p.s. If you are looking for a bright colored bag I love this color of the Mini Mac bag that is similar to the bag in this post on Sequin and Stripes that I'm obsessed with!

Winter: Rebecca Minkoff bag, F21 blazer, JBrand jeans, Nordstrom watch, Sole Society boots
Spring: Daily Chic necklace, F21 bracelet, Pac Sun bag, Free People jeans, Topshop sandals
Forever 21 Blouse

Ever since I wrote this post last month I've been thinking a lot about transitioning my current wardrobe from winter to spring. Other than heavy sweaters I never buy any clothes that can't be worn in at least two seasons. Some of the most versatile pieces of clothing I own are blouses. Blouses can be dressed up or down and worn year around.
I hope one day I'll be able to afford one of these Equipment blouses, but for now Forever 21 has a variety of blouses for great prices. Other than the blouse pictures above I also love this blouse and this blouse.
During the winter I love layering blazers over blouses and throwing on an easy pair of ankle boots  or riding boots for school. When the weather warms up I always pair blouses with white jeans, sandals, and bright accessories.

This week has flown by and unfortunately I have accomplished very little. I'm definitely stuck in the end of winter slump. Up in Boston spring can easily not arrive until mid april and my parents like to remind me of the huge snow storm we got on April 1st when I was little. However, I am still crossing my fingers that spring comes soon.
I'm preparing myself to go back to school on Monday. I'm sure everyone who has finished school will still remember how horrible it is realizing the lazy days of a school break are coming to an end. Instead of doing homework I've been able to enjoy things I actually like, such as reading Elle and Harper's Bazaar, catching up on Street Style blogs, and spending time with friends.
I'll be trying to make the most of my last two days of break this weekend! Hope all of your weekends are going well!

I finally got the chance to read through my giant Elle magazine that arrived in my mail box last week. One article that has really stuck with me was about Caroline Issa, publisher and fashion director of Tank a London based magazine. Since reading the article Caroline Issa has become my new style icon.
There is something so inspiring about a woman who has a significant job and is stylish at the same time. Issa's style is simple yet special. She has an heir of confidence that seems to be inviting instead of arrogant like some people and her style shows this.
For now on I'll definitely be following Caroline Issa both as a style icon and role model for my life.

{J.Crew necklace, zara top, f21 jeans, f21 flats, free people bag}

Every once in a while I just don't feel like putting on a skirt or dress. They are just a lot of effort to wear. You know what I mean? In these cases I throw on a pair of jeans with flats and one of my favorite tops.
I wore this combo to dinner with some friends for a birthday celebration last night. It ended up being the perfect amount of fun and casual for the night. Adding the mint necklace made it feel a little bit more like spring, despite the giant snow banks that you can see behind me.

Lazy Day

{white top, ombre top, dress, pants}

I used to have a serious addiction to Pinterest, but recently I've been spending much more time on Tumblr and other blogs. Sometimes Pinterest can get a little repetitive  I can only see so many hair tutorials and recipes before I need to switch it up.
However, yesterday on Pinterest I came across a gem in a sea of duds. Daily Chic is a online shop that has perfect pieces for spring. From semi-formal dresses to patterned pants anything you could want for the upcoming months is on this site. I love the models who are shot in the clothes and the accessories that they add (which are also on the site).
Not to mention everything on Daily Chic is the perfect price. Tops are around $30 and dresses are usually $50! I can't wait to get my hands on  these gorgeous clothes!

Now thanks to Daily Chic anyone who orders a piece of theirs will get 15% off for the next week using the code peachy keen. Thanks so much to them!

Happy Friday everyone! This week was ridiculously busy for me unfortunately. Whoever said school was easy for 2nd semester seniors lied. But I'm looking forward to the weekend and february vacation this week!
Hope your weekend is filled with fun and relaxation!

It seems like this winter has gone by in a blur. After Christmas and New Years my life just kept getting more and more hectic. From traveling to Austin to taking my last mid-year exams of high school life just hasn't slowed down.
Next week is February break in New England and I'll be staying here. I'm hoping to relax and recuperate from my busy schedule. I'm just waiting for spring and the end of school in May!

I'm in my last week of school before February break (thank god for New England public school schedules) and teachers have taken the coming break as a reason to pile on work this week. Unfortunately this means I haven't spent as much time watching shows (online of course, in my dreams I'm sitting front row) and street style from fashion week as I've wanted to.
 I did get the change today to look at pictures from some shows, though. I read somewhere a few months ago that the time of patterns being the highlight in fashion was coming to an end, but I beg to differ. The one thing I keep seeing in Fall 2013 collections is crazy patterns and colors. I loved the gothic equestrian vibe from Alive and Olivia. Lela Rose was filled with bright colors and great cuts, like the peplum top above.
 A usual favorite of mine, JCrew, was of course stunning. However, JCrew seems to have taken a turn to darker pieces with much different patterns. Maybe it is just because I've seen so much of the spring collection recently, but something just fell different about this collection. Definitely good different though. If you haven't seen the rest of the collection you can see it here
I'm counting down the hours until Friday and dreaming about being in New York instead of in school!

NYFW Favorites Part 2

 {Mara Hoffman}
 {Nicole Miller}
{Rebecca Minkoff}
{pictures from Style.com}

 Despite all the snow and crazy weather NYFW has continued! I've been loving some of the shows so far this week. My favorite collections have been Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Mara Hoffman, Nicole Miller, and Erin Fetherston. Some of these designers, like Rebecca Minkoff, have been favorites of mine for a while, but Erin Fetherston is now a new favorite.
My style is definitely a mix of girly and classic and this is shown through my favorite looks from this week. I'm loving the fun patterns and colors I've seen in a lot of shows. I have also seen the return of leather, lace, and peplum some of my favorite things.
I can't wait for the rest of this week's shows!

NYFW Favorites Part 1

{vest Lands End, scarf unknown, flannel shirt J.Crew, jeans Jbrand, boots Hunter}

The snow is coming down in New England today and almost 3ft of snow is expected to fall. I am no snow lover and I'm sure I will complain a great deal in the coming weeks about the slush and snow, but for now it does look pretty. I ventured outside for a few minutes but was quickly persuaded to return to my warm house.
 Since school was cancelled I am curled up on the couch watching catching up on missed tv shows and watching live streaming of New York Fashion Week. So far my favorite of the week is Rebecca Minkoff. As usual the line was amazing and filled with classic pieces with a twist. Once pictures are put up I will share my favorites!

jacket forever 21 (similar), sweater BDG via urban outfitters (similar), shirt urban outfitters (similar) jeans forever 21,
clutch vintage coach, boots city classified

During the winter I usually end up having some sort of uniform made up of comfy and casual pieces that I love.
This year it is definitely made up of cargo jackets, jeans, and my ankle boots. You may think the only pair of shoes I own are these boots, but I promise I own many other pairs. My ankle boots look great with a variety of outfits so I have been wearing them more than any other shoes.
The jacket I am wearing is actually my sister's jacket but I seem to be wearing my cargo jackets every day. They are light weight and easy to layer over chunky sweaters for school.
I have tried to bring a few hints of spring into my otherwise plain outfits with floral pieces or pastel colors.
Unfortunately as I write this a blizzard is approaching Boston. Over the next two days my little town will be getting covered with up to three feet of snow. Spring is clearly far far away.

{Pictures from Style.com}

In the last year or two I've really gotten into Fashion Week in both the Spring the Fall. Of Course as an American New York Fashion Week is my favorite of all the Fashion Weeks. The best part about Fashion Week now though is the ability to watch the shows without an invitation. You can watch almost every show live or after the fact here
Above are some of the shows I'm most excited to see this week. The pictures along with them are some of my favorite looks from the Spring/Sumer 2013 lines. My mind has been focused on spring but seeing the new collections might actually make me happy it is still chilly outside.
 I can't wait to see BCBG Max Azria, Rebecca Minkoff, DVF, and Nanette Lepore.

The start of NYFW is probably the only thing getting me through this week.
Happy Wednesday! Only one more day until it all starts and two more days until the weekend!

My Picks for NYFW

column two: scarf, wristlet, earrings, loafers

I find myself too often buying and wanting things that are extremely expensive. As a girl who is about to face a lot of expenses on a very small budget, this is just unrealistic.
So I've decided to start a new monthly post, 20 under $20. Granted, there are a few things on my list that cost exactly $20.
The teal loafers from Target are probably my favorite thing of this month. I've seen them at Target a few times and finally think I will buy them for spring! There are a few colors/patterns of the loafers on sale as well.
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I know mine has been relaxing and just what I needed.

{cap-toe flats, necklace, bracelet, iPhone case, pullover, color blocked blouse}
{striped flats, scarf, denim shorts, skirt, floral jeans, striped shirt}

The J.Crew Spring/Summer collection is finally here! I have a obsession with J.Crew that has gone on for many year, and I don't see it ending anytime soon. J.Crew seamlessly puts together classic items with trends in a way that is mind blowing an incredible.
 From color blocking to patterned pants J.Crew has covered all my favorite trends this season, while still creating gorgeous classics with a nod to nautical style.
The collection is also filled with the best basics for the spring and summer season. Stripes shirts and denim shorts often end up being my uniform in the summer. I know I'll be taking these basics and adding the pretty necklaces and patterned scarves in the spring collection. Now it just needs to warm so I have a reason to buy everything I love!

Have a great weekend! I couldn't be happier it is Friday since I seem to be getting sick like everyone else I've talked to. Hope you are all staying healthy out there. There are only a few more weeks months until Spring, we can do it!
