On Christmas morning I opened up one of the best surprises I've ever gotten. Remember when I put these boots on my Christmas wishlist? Well, I didn't think there was any chance I would get them as a present, but there they were underneath the tree. Over the Knee boots have been on my wishlist for a long time, especially after seeing them on Sloane from Sailing the Sea of Style!

Of course after opening these boots up there was no way I was letting them come off my feet. I edited my cozy Christmas day outfit last minute to include the boots and my favorite tartan button up. It was the perfect look for a day playing with my little cousins and eating my aunt's delicious food!

I hope you all had a great holiday! I definitely got my fill of family time and Christmas cookies. I was also given some incredible presents of my family that you will see on the blog soon!

Since Christmas day is all about lounging around in my family I decided to dress up a bit for Christmas Eve dinner. This skirt and sweater are on high rotation in my winter wardrobe. Both pieces are incredibly comfortable and easy to wear so I always end up gravitating towards them!

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”
– Calvin Coolidge

I came across this quote a few days ago and believe President Coolidge is right in saying Christmas is a state of mind. Waking up surrounded by family and friends reminds me of all the things I'm grateful for. I'm in Connecticut celebrating with my extended family and plan on spending the day relaxing and watching my little cousins open presents. I hope you all have a joyous day celebrating with your family and friends.

Merry Christmas

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow! Since getting home from school Friday night I've been getting extra sleep and catching up on reading. After finals a vacation was definitely needed.

Today I'm heading down to Connecticut to see family and this look is similar to what I think I'll be wearing Christmas day. For lounging around, opening presents, and playing with my little cousins an easy comfortable outfit is a must-do. Adding fun pops of pattern and sparkle make the look perfect for Christmas!

It has been a while since I've put up any of my instagram pictures up on the blog, but with the Holiday season starting I've snapping shots like crazy. While I love fall and usually hate the change to bare trees and freezing temperatures I haven't minded it as much this year. The city definitely goes all out for the holidays and I love walking through Christmas tree stands and seeing the pretty lights everywhere.

The Holidays In NYC

Monday, December 16, 2013

Earlier this week when I was on the phone with my Dad he asked me what was on my christmas wish list. As my Dad, he knows that there are usually almost a hundred things I can name at any time that I want, so he was pretty surprised when I said I didn't know.

Well Dad, no need to worry I have created a Christmas wish list with plenty of items on it! While some of these items (mostly just those incredible boots) would be a Christmas miracle if they happened to show up under the tree on Dec 25th, most of them are a great (i.e affordable) price!

A good portion of my wish list this year is dedicated to practicalities because I could definitely use a few more sweaters and sleeveless blouses to layer during these winter months. However, some pieces, like the monogram ring and leopard print bag, aren't definitely high on my "just because" list.

What are you all hoping to open up Christmas morning?

Shop: My Christmas Wish List

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

I'm definitely not a pro christmas shopper. I usually end up resorting to buying clothes for my family members for lack of other creative ideas. So this year I'm starting Christmas shopping early (meaning not the week before Christmas). I love the idea of finding fun personal pieces for my family members such as an initial necklace for my sister, mug for my mom, and cutting board for my dad.

Small gifts are also usually hard to find but fun games (like my favorite, bananagrams) and art kits (like nail art for my little sister) are great gifts for great prices.

Good luck with all your holiday shopping!
