This week I'm definitely feeling the TGIF effect this week. Sadly, with two midterms on Monday and a paper due Sunday night the weekend isn't really doing much for me. Luckily, unlike last weekend the snow would have kept me inside anyways. Be prepared for more than one coffee instagram, because I'll be drinking a lot of it over the next few days.

And now a few things I've been loving this week!

I just signed up for Keaton Row, an incredible online styling tool that matches you with a personal stylist, after talking to one of the Co-Founders at a school event this week. I'm already obsessed!

Sarah Jessica Parker's shoe collection is now available at Nordstrom. My favorite pair is this mint pair that would be perfect for spring!

Gap's spring collection is killing it. These white jeans with a twist are perfect for spring and this sweater as well as this oxford are high on my wish list.

I love seeing NYU on College Fashionista, especially when they are styling classics oh so perfectly.

The 12 shoes that every women should only. I'm only about half way there and still on the list are two of my favorites, animal print heels and metallic heels. I love this simple leopard option for only $70.

The College Prepster's Secrets for Success from earlier this week. My favorite was her ideas about redefining success (as well as being on time, because I'm notoriously early)

My search for the perfect (affordable) white tee may have ended now that I've found this $25 option from Everlane. The pocket and scoop neck are just what I've been looking for. I'm also a huge fan of their weekender bags

Hope you all have a great weekend! If you're studying for midterms like me make sure to work in some relaxation time. In my free time I'll be catching up on all my tv shows (most importantly Scandal) that have finally returned!

Midterms are currently making my life absolutely manic, but I've made some serious plans with my bed and the beautiful March issue of Harpers Bazaar for Monday afternoon. Along with my life, my style has been pretty crazy lately. I don't know if having bipolar style is a real thing, but if it is I definitely have it. As spring looms in the distance I've been jumping back and forth between girly cuts and colors and all things black. Pastel blues, pinks, and florals are classic spring, but New York is getting the best of me and making we reach for ripped black jeans and leather jackets. Regardless of what I'll be wearing I'm definitely wishing for lazy (aka non school work filled) summer days.

Shop the post below for my picks shown above and a few others!

These pictures are again from this past weekend when it was beautiful outside! My friend and I made a trip to the Upper West Side for our weekly bagels and to see Belvedere Castle in Central Park. The views of both the park and Manhattan were absolutely incredible and I definitely want to go back when the ground isn't completely covered with snow.

Hope you're all having a great week! Things may be a little slow around Peachy Keen for the next few days because I have three midterms on Monday, but I promise I'll be back in full force soon!

{Zara blazer, Forever 21 top, Joe's Jeans, Gap flats, Timex watch, Bauble Bar necklace}

It felt like spring for a brief second this weekend and I took full advantage of the weather by walking all around New York and breaking out what will likely be my go to piece of the season, this pale blue blazer.

I've talked a lot recently about how pastel blue has been calling to me, but it wasn't until I saw this beautiful blazer at Zara that I became obsessed. I already have at least ten different outfits in mind that will be completed with this blazer, so be prepared to see it a lot in the coming months. For this weekend throwing the blazer over an easy tee with jeans and flats was the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather, and ice cream of course.

Happy Friday to you all! I want to thank everyone for the support in the redesign of my blog in the comments of my post yesterday. I have been so excited to show it to you all, and I loved finding out that you were just as excited to see it.

The highlight of this weekend is definitely the fact that it is going to be in the 50s in New York City. I mean, after this freezing winter (apparently the 8th snowiest in NYC history), 50 degrees seems like shorts and sandals kind of weather. While I won't actually be pulling out my shorts I will be spending as much time outside as I possibly can, especially since I've heard rumors of another snow storm on the horizon. All I can say is that if you are someone who lives where it doesn't snow just remember how incredibly lucky you are. I'm counting down the days until I can stroll around NYC wearing a dress and sandals like the girl in the above picture.

A few things I've been loving this week are...

Amanda Risius' apartment featured on The Everygirl. I cannot believe she is in college and can only hope that in a few years my apartment will look this perfect.

Blush nails with lots of gold rings as seen here

Jenna Lyons' shoe collection and this clip of J.Crew's shoe factory in Italy. Who doesn't love anything to do with Jenna Lyons or J.Crew?

These adorable red flats for spring that were featured on Could I Have That? earlier this week. Did I mention they are only $25? Seriously, go buy them now.

An inspirational (and informative) interview with Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling on La Prive.

Tips for looking stylish and put together on a teensy tiny budget. I need to get my hands on one of these asap.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Welcome to the new Peachy Keen everyone! I'm incredibly excited that the site is finally done. Since reaching out to Stephanie about two months ago I've been not so patiently waiting for the final product. Up until now everything on the site was designed by me, but I felt as if I was reaching the point where a professional needed to take over and Stephanie created something better than anything I could have ever imagined! You can check out her portfolio of blog and graphic design here. What do you guys think?

On the note of new things it started to feel a little bit like spring yesterday! Of course that meant I pulled out my first new purchase for spring, this tulip skirt. Right now as the snow melts it works perfectly with tights and boots, but as spring really comes I can't wait to pair it with light blouses and sandals!

On Sunday I finally got the chance to head uptown to the MoMA after wanting to make the trip for months. As per usual my favorite exhibit was the photography exhibit and I left feeling inspired. Of course, stopping by the Macaron Cafe afterwards was definitely a plus as well.

Sadly, it was only when I uploaded these pictures yesterday that I realized how horrible all the pictures of my outfit came out. Under my leather jacket I was wearing my favorite H&M purchase of all time, a sweater tunic/dress with a boatneck and gold buttons. Even though I bought it almost two years ago it is still one of my winter go-tos (last seen here)!

{Shoemint ($60), Soludos ($43), Topshop ($75)}
{Shoedazzle ($15), Shoemint ($70), Forever 21 ($23)}

Only 30 days until spring! Which, in New York, means about two months until it actually starts to feel like spring outside. Even so, I'm starting my spring wish list!

These three types of shoes are high on my wish list this season. Chunky ankle strap heels are not only practical (stilettos on NYC sidewalks shouldn't be allowed), but also incredibly fun. I love all the variations of these heels, and I finally just ordered the first pair from Shoemint. If you follow me on twitter you know I'm anxiously waiting there arrival. Then we have the classic espadrille, which is making a serious come back. I'm not sure how practical these are for walking around NY, but with all the different prints, colors, and textures (aka this calf-hair and leather option) there is a pair for everyone. I've also been searching for the perfect pair of these pointed flats. I love everything about this Jeffrey Campbell pair, except for the price point. These flats, in bright colors and floral patterns, are high on my list, especially since they can easily be worn in the city!

What are your favorite shoes for spring?

 Happy Friday and Valentine's Day everyone! Tonight my friends and I will be staying in, away from the cold, and catching up on movies with homemade cookies my mom sent (love my parents!). I'm also excited for this long weekend to be able to catch up on work that I've been getting behind on as well as being able to relax a bit before the semester gets too crazy.

From yesterday's post you all know I'm at the point now where I'm rebelling against the cold and wearing whatever I want. Well, what I really want to wear is this incredible jacket shown above on Samantha from Could I have that? (also seen on Kendi). The moment I saw this jacket I ran over to my roommate screaming, "have you ever seen anything that is more me?" She completely agreed that this incredible floral moto jacket is meant to be in my closet. Sadly, with the hefty price tag this option is really not an option, so in the coming months I'll be looking for something just as incredible at a lower price.

A few things I've been loving this week are...

Details from the J.Crew Fall/Winter 2014 collection

Her Campus's picks for the best hairstyles of NYFW

Tips for dressing like (my icon) Jenna Lyons

With all the rain/snow in NY I've been eyeing these classic shorter Hunters, as well as these in a pale blue

These super stylish emojis from Harper's Bazaar, my favorite is this one

Hope you all have a great long weekend!

With this freezing weather I'm been wearing blouses, jeans, and oh yeah flats. I don't care that it's twenty degrees outside anymore because I am seriously sick of boots. I'm awaiting the days to come where I can wear a skirt without tights and slip on a pair of sandals as I'm running to class. Of course right now my go to pair of flats is my newly replaced leopard print ones, which are always complemented by my new leopard print phone case. Maybe I'll buy this Kate Spade bag next? I'm just kidding about the bag, but seriously can a girl have too much leopard print?

Despite all my goals to keep up with NYFW and make a trip up to Lincoln Center to check out the incredible street style I managed to do neither of these things since fashion week started last Thursday.  Sadly, a busy weekend and lots of school work took up almost all my free time. I finally got the chance to go through the collections I hadn't seen yet today and I have to say I can't wait to shop next fall.

While I definitely cannot afford most of my favorite designers, I'm hoping some of the trends I'm seeing in the shows will hopefully be popping up in stores everywhere. I forced myself to pick one look from each of my favorite shows to show you guys. If I went through everything I've been loving in collections I've seen you would stop reading about half way through.

Here are a few things I've been loving....

Charlotte Ronson's off the shoulder necklines, one of which is shown above. Other I love are here and here

Carolina Herrera's incredible prints! I love this blue print (shown above) and also this similar red one

And speaking of prints Mara Hoffman did it again and made me fall in love with every piece of the collection. The dress above as well as this dress and this incredible jumpsuit

Plaid, which is here to stay thanks to all of Tommy Hilfiger's collection and Rebecca Minkoff's incredible jacket

Really everything about the Rebecca Taylor collection, which was a perfect mix of feminine and tough

I could go on for so much longer about everything I've loved, but I'll spare you all the ramblings of a fashion obsessed girl.

What are your favorites from fashion week so far?

NYFW: Fast Forward to Fall

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Happy Friday everyone! I'm extremely happy it's Friday, but I also have a very busy weekend ahead of me. The semester is getting into full swing and my mind is completely on the coming of spring.

Every year when February 1st comes around I immediately start hoping it will feel a little more like spring, but that is pretty much never the case (especially since we always get that one snow storm once I think it's all finally over). With NYFW going on all around me, though,  it's hard not to think about the coming seasons. Of course the collections are for this fall (which always my favorite), but the attendees have started showcasing some spring style even with the freezing temperatures. Recently I'v been inspired by pastel pinks and blues, florals, and all things girly. While none of these are especially groundbreaking (see here) they feel incredibly refreshing after heavy layers and lots of black all winter.

I hope you all have a great weekend and are able to find few hours of relaxation during the two very short days!

I love New York Fashion week as much as every fashion addict, but I especially love it now because of what it does to New York. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but surrounding fashion week New York becomes even crazier with thousands of super stylish people flocking to the city. The magic of Fashion Week definitely goes past the tents of Lincoln Center and I love feeling like a small part of it.

One of my dreams is to actually attend a show during fashion week at some point in my life, but for now I'm pretty darn happy to be able to watch the shows while curled up in my bed. If you don't already know about NYFW Live you are seriously missing out. With almost the shows played live and then shown again later on you no longer have to be in the tents to be apart of fashion week (though I'm pretty sure sitting front row is better ;)). I always want to see every show, but as all of you know, life tends to get in the way. So, I attempted to pick one show a day to watch, which of course was impossible. I did whittle the list down slight and the above list is my goal for shows to keep up with in the coming days (as well as the J.Crew and Alice + Olivia presentations). These designers are some of my favorites and I cannot wait to see what they have in store for this fall!

What designers' collections are you most looking forward to this week?

The Madness Begins

Thursday, February 6, 2014

This post has seriously been a long time coming. I realized about three weeks into January that I had completely forgotten a January 20 Under $25 post with all of the holiday madness that had been going on! So of course I wanted to make this month's post extra incredible. All of the pieces in this month's 20 Under $25 are thinks I either have in my closet or need to be in my closet because they are just amazing.

With spring coming it's time to shed my all black layers for some lighter and more colorful options. Adding blouses and crop tops in pretty colors is definitely how I'll be styling my basics this spring. Other fun pieces such as the floral scarf, sea foam clutch, and chambray polka dot hat (which is item number one on the wish list) are the perfect way to accessorize.

Then of course I have all the classics. Lots of leopard print is a must, no matter what time of the year it is, and dainty jewelry has been my go to recently. Neutral flats and sandals are also on the list and I especially love those cognac flats from Asos!

Hope ya'll like my picks!

{Zara coat, H&M blouse, unknown boyfriend jeans, INC flats, Rebecca Minkoff bag}

My mom used to wake my sister and I up on Monday mornings singing "Back to life, Back to reality" and I definitely feel that way this morning. Since the semester just started I'm not drowning in work so my friends and I took a walk across the city to the west side to see the gorgeous hudson river views and revel in the adorable West Village streets.

 It felt like spring and I really don't think I can deal with the freezing weather again. Even with a thin blouse under my peacoat, really ripped jeans, and flats I warmer than I've been in months. My friends and I ended up getting dessert from Magnolia's Bakery and we were even able to sit outside and eat. These are seriously big steps and I don't care what Punxsutawney Phil says, spring in coming soon!

Hope you're week starts off well!

 After writing this post a couple of weeks ago about weekend wear (ie the most comfortable type of outfit) I thought I would start a semi regular styling post on Saturdays. I used to do styling posts a lot (see here, here, and here), but recently they've disappeared somewhat from Peachy Keen and I thought it was time to bring them back.

What I absolutely love about this look is the way I can throw a coat over the blouse/sweater combo and be extra warm, but the moment the coat comes off it feels like a summer look (well, sort of). The nautical stripes and white knit combined with cognac leather remind of me of the warm days I'm craving right now, but with practical layering this look can still be worn in the freezing weather.

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday and Happy February! Spring is getting closer by the minute!
