As much as I love a good lazy Sunday, the summer is no time to stay inside on a beautiful weekend day. One of the hardest parts of adjusting to a full-time work schedule this summer was realizing that I was inside sitting all day 5 days a week. So, after a long work week I just want to get out and explore when the weekend comes around.
This past Sunday my friend and I pulled ourselves out of our comfortable (and might I add air conditioned) beds to head to Smorgasburg and do a little exploring around DUMBO. Despite the messed up trains we actually made it there just before our stomachs started grumbling.
I had the duck sandwich from Duck Season and a cranberry limeade. They were both seriously delicious so I highly recommend. There are so many options though that you could go back every weekend and never have to eat the same thing twice. Afterwards, I got an ice cream sandwich, which was the perfect treat to cool off with.
Before we headed over to Smorgasburg we did a little exploring of DUMBO and of course took pictures on Front St with the bridge. Unfortunately, there were no lonely boy Gossip Girl sightings, but I guess there's always next time. I had never really been to this neighborhood before and I have to say I really loved it. The buildings and views are beautiful and there were so many cute restaurants and shops I want to go back to.
